Oscar Wilde was born on 16 October 1854 in Dublin, Ireland. His full name was Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde. He was a poet as well as a playwright. His father Mr. William Wilde was Ireland’s most successful eye and ear surgeon. His mother Jane Wilde was a Poet, who is also known as Speranza.
Oscar wide was most successful in writing society comedies. Some of his famous short stories are – The Portrait of Mr. W.H, The remarkable Rocket, The Canterville Ghost, The Selfish Giant, etc. Oscar Wilde gave his remarkable contribution to cinemas also, many movies are inspired by his brilliant work. He died at the age of 46 on 30 November 1900 in Paris, France.
